The AIDEA project was presented at the Pan-European Conference on Digital Education, an international online event bringing together teachers, professors and other education professionals interested in the use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
The programme included a presentation of the AIDEA project, alongside presentations on creative teaching methods and the use of AI in design education. Livia Di Nardo from Accademia Italiana Rome presented methodological lessons from the NIMI project for developing creativity through three forms of intelligence. Domen Lo from the Faculty of Design discussed the implementation of AI tools in design education, while Robert Muster from Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences explored how teaching and learning roles are changing in the AI era.
Participants were also invited to share their own experiences, expectations and concerns regarding AI. Through an online poster session, educators presented a wide range of practices, including digital storytelling, interactive materials, adapted resources and activities supporting students’ critical AI literacy.
The conference showed that AI can be a valuable educational tool when it is used thoughtfully, ethically and as support for human creativity and critical thinking rather than as a replacement for them.
